The Robert A. Raeburn
Collection
In April 2001 Robert A. Raeburn, VMI Class of 1951,
presented his superb collection of Civil War Art to his Alma Mater. The painting and
sculpture are the work of artist who left the studio to join the war effort during the
years of 1861-1865. Celebrated painters such as Julian Scott and Henry Forbes are
represented in the collection.
