Description: Bas relief of Sculptor Alexander Galt, Jr. executed by his niece M.J. Galt in 1926. Galt, who was the sculptor of the Statue of Thomas. Jefferson located in the Rotunda at U of VA and the bust of Gov. Letcher located in Preston Library, VMI, was approached by Gen. Francis Smith to become Professor of Fine Arts at VMI.
